The cheapest product mentality

Fair Trade gives producers a guaranteed minimum price for their goods so that unscrupulous buyers do not take advantage of their poverty driven needs. Buying Fair Trade products is your way of not contributing to the sweat shop mentality. The cheapest product is not always the best product, in more ways than one. Fair trade means that safe working conditions and living wages are demanded and forced child labor is prohibited.

Fair trade farming practices require that harmful agrochemicals and GMOs are not used and instead environmentally sustainable farming methods are used. We can not count on all countries to use sustainable farming methods when our own country does not. Buying Fair Trade consumables is one way we can take back the planet from the hands of greedy polluters!
